A new era in Ferrari Motorsport history...
In late October 2022, at Imola, Ferrari unveiled its first prototype race car in 50 years, a truly historic moment in motorsport news. The new car was to be called the ‘Ferrari 499P’ which was to compete in the top tier Le Mans Hypercar (LMH) class. This site is dedicated to this special Ferrari Hypercar and aims to provide race car fans with ongoing news on it’s technical development and race endeavours around the world.
Ferrari entered two AF Corse team 499P cars in the Centenary Le Mans 24 hour race in June 2023 marking a major milestone in La Sarthe motorsport history. The race category for the 499P would be the Le Mans Hypercar (LMH) where it would compete with Toyota, Cadillac, Porsche, Vanwall, Glickenhaus and Peugeot race teams.
The Ferrari 499P is powered by a turbocharged 2.9 litre V6 engine that is coupled with a front-mounted electric motor which is powered by a 900-volt battery allowing for a total output of 680bhp which is permissible under LMH regulations.

Ferrari raced again with the 499P in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) for 2024 and competed with other leading Hypercars teams such as Toyota Gazoo Racing, Hertz Team JOTA, Porsche Penske Motorsport & Peugeot TotalEnergies. A new third Ferrari 499P also entered the season as #83 with a trio of new drivers (see Latest News)
